2COR4:6
"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
John 8:12
"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
Well, what Catholic could disagree with with the propagation of these words from Sacred Scripture? These words are true and the Gospel is the light of men, the light of the living. The only time we could disagree with the promulgation of these excerpts from Scripture is when they are etched upon the sights of the guns being fired from the machine guns of US soldiers in Afghanistan, the bullets of which fly into the knees, hearts and heads of the Taliban resistance!
Outrageous! Didn't Our Lord say something about those who live by the sword! I know Afghanistan is a dirty job, and, apparently some poor someones have to do it thanks to the US and UK Government's insistence that even though the once mighty Soviets left Afghanistan humiliated, we won't make the same mistakes and get bogged down in a futile quagmire, but really, once you've shot someone in the head, in what amounts to an endless, bloody war with massive waste of human life and limbs on both sides, wouldn't you just feel like you soul had been just a little bit sullied. After all, this isn't even the Crusades! Evangelical fruitcakes!
"The Lord is my light and my salvation!...Yes! Mike! I got another towelhead!"
