On a Personal Note...

Shock! I have a job interview coming up in October as a Project Administrator. Anyone who wants to say a prayer for me, that would be much appreciated! I've had a few interviews in my time and my track record of clinching the job is appalling.

Good Luck- I will pray to St. Joesph the Worker for you.

Mind are a great charity and I admire the work they do. I think you'd do really well- you are a intelligent and sympathetic person, and you must be well organised to do all the bookkeeping at St. Mary Magdalenes and juggle this with your busking, band, altar serving and gardening, etc. so I would have thought you are just the sort of person they are looking for. Have PMA! (As Linford Christie once said in an advert.)

I have also been applying for charity sector jobs, as I just want to get out of the fashion industry (Again.) I knew it was a bad idea going back to working in clothing but dog walking is very unreliable and not well paid, so I was struggling badly.

One thing I would not miss about the fashion industry is the huge workload & sitting at home at the weekend writing my weekly critical path (sample/production schedule lead time / approval status report) Yawn! Zzzzzz!

I am also applying for jobs related to animal care as I am mad on them (ferrets, cats, dogs, wildlife, etc) and also because I have experience in behaviour training & volunteer at the Blue Cross. I still miss my old dog walking/ pet sitting days with Jenny, but sometimes go out with her on weekends.

I applied a week ago for a Cat Welfare Assistant job at a rescue centre. The closing date is not until Monday, so please pray for me too!

Heaven help us Laurence...you should be chief hack on the Catholic Herald, not Project Administrator with MIND. Aren't they all for aborting unborn babies identified with mental disabilities?
Isn't Brian Rix (he of the Whitehall farce fame), their Chairman, a well known advicate of abortion.
Kick a few doors open in Fleet Street (or Canary Wharf) and give the masses the benefit of your talent.
But...I will add my prayers.

Shepherd- Crikey, I never knew that! Really? Pro- abortion?! Not good! I agree with you, The Mighty Bones has more than enough talent to be a top editor. Maybe we should write to the broadheets on his behalf and champion his cause, or get all the Thrillers to stand outside Fleet Street with you brandishing a megaphone and Laurence wearing a sandwich board proclaming his worthiness!LOL!

In the meantime, perhaps he wants to work in a job where his work will ultimately benefit others in need. (Hopefully!)I will research the links with Mind/ Pro- Abortion. Hmmmm.

Since August 2005 when I left my protestant ministry and pay cheque behind forever I have been un and under employed. That is still the case today. May the Lord grant you grace and wisdom and may the intercession of St. Jospeh patron saint of all workers inlcuding those looking for employment bring you God's success.

Thanks for the info...

So regarding abortion is that one of my enquiries at the end of the interview when the interviewer says, "So do you have any questions?"

The Bones said...

My answer,

"Yeah...I hear your organisation is into pro-abort counselling for those with mental illness. Is this true? Secondly, I was just wondering whether the pay/holiday entitlement was worth trading in for my soul?"

Thanks for the encouragement btw...Chief hack of the Herald! Well, I can dream!

Hmmmm, sorry I now mentioned abortion, it is a hard one to cope with. You could argue that by being on the inside of an organisation you would be in a better position to influence people and open thier minds to the error of a pro death policy.
Maybe your response to "Do you have any questions for us" should be:
"What is your equal opportunity policy towards those who may hold differing views from yours on the sanctity of life"
You may not get the job but you sure will have bowled them a googly.

Laurence, many profuse apologies. I was confusing MIND with Mencap.
I do not know what MIND'S policies are regarding abortion.
The yellow pills are much needed.
Sorry again and, also to Tanya.
