'The People' Newspaper Campaign to Ban Dr Death

An unholy alliance: 'Dr' Phillip Nitschke found a soulmate in Rev. David Coleman in terms of shirt fashion and suicide promotion.

A few weeks ago I reported on Dr Phillip Nitscke and the fact that the proponent of suicide kits at 35 quid a go is to be welcomed at the Brighthelm Centre, Brighton, by the United Reformed Church minister, Rev. David Coleman.

'The People,' have now spoken. That is, 'The People' newspaper, who are campaigning that the founder of Exit International not be allowed into the UK to give his seminars and workshops on suicide, to protect the vulnerable. I have written to them to ask if, as a Brightonian, concerned that this killer is on his way to our city, I can help their campaign.

Click here to read about their campaign in which they confirm that Nitschke is 'on record as saying he would 'help' anyone, "including the depressed, the elderly bereaved, the troubled teen". His stance was confirmed when a People investigator posing as a man in his 30s told him an accident had ruined his life but had NOT left him terminally ill or disabled. Nitschke replied: "Come to a workshop. What most people want to know are the things which are the most peaceful, reliable and accessible. That revolves around the acquisition of drugs and the so-called non-drug methods."

Our man asked how to get barbiturates and was told details would be given at the talk. Nitschke said the drug was "the best of the methods".'
His £35 "suicide kit" is designed to test the strength of barbiturates like the so-called euthansia drug Nembutal. Nitschke promised demonstrations of how to use drugs and the "Exit Bag".

Banning people may seem a bit extreme, but then, hey, we're not allowed to burn people at the stake anymore, so he should probably count himself lucky.
