Sorry Politicians...Kyrie Eleison?
“I want to apologise on behalf of politicians, on behalf of all parties, for what has happened.” - High Priest, Gordon Brown seeks general absolution for the sins of politicians...It doesn't look like public forgiveness is forthcoming. What with Parliament doing so well at hammering Christianity into the ground, mercy isn't a quality most Brits dispense so readily nowadays...especially when the same politicians are telling those on benefits, who are eeking out an existence during a recession, 'We're watching your every move.' Meanwhile, the just and righteous politicians are claiming jacuzzis on the public purse.
Oh the irony! At last! The hunters have become the hunted. Hah! Put that in your 'New Labour' pipe and smoke it! Classic! Well done The Telegraph...What do you reckon? Community Service? Orange bibs, like the ones they're planning for young offenders, emblazoned with the naming and shaming slogan, 'Expenses Cheat'? Financial irregularities boot-camp? Out of contrition and in all humility they should consider sending their DNA to Jacqui Smith so this information can be kept on file for at least 12 years...unlike a notably high proportion of the victims of the growing police state, these guys are actually guilty!
I trust all this information will be on the MP's ID cards when they're forced on us, so the electorate can check up on their MPs standards and kick their rear ends out of public office. Sorrowfully, the only danger is that some UKIP/BNP nutjobs win seats at the European and General Elections...These are, perhaps, dangerous times.
