Christina Odone on 'The Francis Effect'
Christina Odone is waxing lyrical about Pope Francis. Good to hear Odone saying something positive about the Pope. Apparently, according to one study, the Holy Father is the most discussed person on the internet.
Hey Christina...Where were you between 2005 and 2013? Was that "All principles are negotiable", Christina? or, "All my principles are negotiable?"

Perhaps it's because she's making the basic mistake that with this Pope all things are negotiable. It's called wishful thinking.
I just saw your latest poll in the sidebar and it made me laugh.
Catholicism-by-questionnaire. It'll never take off. O, wait...
To be fair to Christina, the interpretation or operationalising of principles is negotiable. She may not have expressed it perfectly in the heat of the moment but I think she has a point. For example, the church's stance on usury. The principle against financial exploitation is intact but the meaning attached to it has changed.
Pope Francis' change of tone and emphasis is having a positive effects... see the following re increase in recorded mass attendance in Italy and the UK.
I don't doubt it.
Yes it is...
Ooops I forgot the link before.

The truth does not change.
To paraphrase the good pope John: The truth is one thing but how it is presented is another.
