Kasper Poll Results Coming In

Kasper: "You can't refuse me Communion! Don't you know who I am?!"
The results are in...

In a survey of 302 Catholics, a whopping 87 percent of respondents voted that Cardinal Kasper should not be admitted to Holy Communion compared to a small minority, 13 percent, who said he should.

I think there's little doubt that this sample is pretty much representative of the entire Catholic world, since clearly even The Tablet's hard-working team could not muster up the enthusiasm to get their friends to take the poll from different computers. The question is, will Rome act?

With shock results like this we have to ask: Is Kasper for the axe? Overnight our team of analysts will be giving you the reaction to news of Kasper's sudden fall from grace. This is what 87% of the Catholic World looks like...

If you extrapolate our survey to across the Catholic world, then the following image gives you an approximate understanding of just how large the margin against Cardinal Kasper receiving Holy Communion was to those who believed the Lord of Hosts (who is truly present in the Blessed Host) should be dispensed to the Prince of the Church. I think you'll agree that the survey's results are staggering and are sure to be taken into consideration at the Synod.

It's not matter of opinion but the unchangeable doctrine of the Church.

Can I respectfully request that this post is deleted. It's not funny and it's actually very offensive. Is it really worth the upset caused? Cardinal Kasper is an orthodox bishop, a son of the church who upholds the essence of these teachings. The question he's raising is about the pastoral application and impact of these teachings, and he's not the only one - they are many who share similar concerns and views.

Yes, some people may have difficulties with what he says and understanding how/why he says it, the wisdom of doing so etc. Engage with the discussion by all means but don't condemn him out of hand. Differences of opinion have been common in the history of the church and it's the role of the synod to hear all perspectives, discern the will of the spirit and decide on the issue. this could be the work of the spirit, we must be open to it!

posts like this don't help.

Come on Fr. John-----are you gonna play that 'son of the Church' card for Kasper too? Bad enough we have to hear it from Francis the friendly pope. It kind of reminds me of growing up in the Deep South (Georgia.). You could gossip viciously about another female as long as you ended your comments with--"bless her little heart." Nowadays you can spout any heresy you want as long as you end it with "I am a son of the Church!" What total cow feces.

Have difficulties with what he says?

Surely you jest Fr. John? This Cardinal is playing with fire on Catholic dcotrine and you say we should have discussions with him? - totally ridiculous - anyway he doesnt want any discussions - he wants the Church laws changed - for pastoral and compassionate reasons! Yuck! Come on!

He was very angry with most of the Bishops and Cardinals at that last Consistory on the Family - because they were against his mad proposals - even some well-known modernists opposed him - and rightly so ...the man is a danger to the faith...

Check it out on Magister - it's all documented...

Who are you anyway to tell Mr. Laurence to take a post down?

He does very well in exposing the hypocrisies and heresies of our leaders..

And if you don't like it - tough!

And posts like yours don't help - they are opaque and redundant ...
