Sceptic Questions Papal Mass Numbers

The numbers are neither here nor there. It's faithful belief and practice that matters. The multiple sacrileges committed against Our Lord and Saviour in the Blessed Sacrament should be causing the Holy See to repent, do reparation and call on others to do so, to beg God's forgiveness and put at end to all such future mockery of, and contempt, for Our Lord God. Blessed Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle . . .

Ha. Was thinking the same thing today. Viewing the overhead shots of the Mass, it did not seem possible that six or seven million people could fit inside Luneta Park or even in the surrounding area. Found an article from the Philippines that said only one to one and a half million could fit in the park...

Lynda, what if this mockery and contempt are what SOME really want? Did you think about this?

Whom are you asking for reparations? This pope? Are you joking?

Ouch! Bad taste special.

No, Lynda, they will not repent, no reparations, nothing of nothing, because they believe no more in Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament, it's only memory of last supper, just like old saxon monk said.....ever heard about the bleeding host in BA that the former argie cardinal ordered to be hidden in the 90ies? It was human blood, a rare one, from a palestinian male.....oremus. God bless+.

He would say that. Wouldn't he?

If drawing an attendance of 6 million at Mass in the Philippines is hyped and regarded as proof of the Bishop of Rome's huge personal success, then the First Mass with a mere twelve in attendance was a dismal failure.

In fairness to a few [a few out of the disputed six million], I did crying voices pleading, "Please, please, don't do that - it's Jesus! It's the Lord, do be very careful!" All cries were in Tagalog, so I'm not surprised TV viewers didn't hear.

I don't think the sacrilege was intentional. The crowd was tightly packed behind PVC railings and the extraordinary communion minister [a nun?] was standing outside the rail. She could only give communion to those close by, probably hoping they would move to the sides to give way to those in the back to come up. But it was impossible.

Still, she continued giving out Jesus. One young boy was pleading for her to reach farther to someone behind him, as he could not touch another Host after he had received. He couldn't move from where he was standing. So sad.

And yes, I've been going to Eucharistic Adoration every night since then, trying to make reparation.

If Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament cannot be given and received in a reverent manner, then Holy Communion ought not be given. It is not necessary to receive Our Lord at Holy Mass. And one may not receive if not in a state of grace.
