News just in that Alex Salmond, or at least his effigy, is to be burned in Lewes tonight for the Guy Fawkes Bonfire.
No news yet on Pope Francis.
If they don't burn the Pope this year, will that mean the Lewes Protestants regard the Holy See as sede vacante?

Have learnt from local News that due to protests they have withdrawn effigy of Alex Salmond. Don't know whether they have burnt the Pope this year.
Wonder what would happen if we protested about burning the Pope? I have a feeling the answer would be nothing.
Pope Francis is probably too Protestant for them to burn.
Confusion all round! The Argus now states that there were two effigies of Alex Salmond and that one was withdrawn but the other was exploded publicly there. A foot in both camps.
Good one Lynda!

Wasn't Guy Fawkes a Jesuit? Pope Francis would be the perfect Guy Fawkes to burn any November day - but only if the Pope were a Catholic.
