The Gospel of Jesus Christ

Rather...

If you find the letter of the four Cardinals "confusing"- you have not read or do not understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

'But if thy brother shall offend against thee, go, and rebuke him between thee and him alone. If he shall hear thee, thou shalt gain thy brother. And if he will not hear thee, take with thee one or two more: that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may stand. And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican. Amen I say to you, whatsoever you shall bind upon earth, shall be bound also in heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose upon earth, shall be loosed also in heaven.' (St Matthew 18, 15-18)

So if we find Pope Francis confusing we have not read or do not understand the Gospel. This is the kind of statement that Pope Francis makes but now it comes from Bishop Farrell. Maybe it is catching.

But what exactly does it mean? As one of the confused I can assure the Bishop that I have read the Gospel so presumably he means that I do not understand it. In a sense of course one never fully understands the Gospel which is why one goes on rereading it and hopefully being further enlightened. But the good Bishop is implying that he has read it which is surely good news where a Bishop is concerned but he also understands it. But what does he understand from it that resolves any confusion we find in Pope Francis? He has not told us and I suspect will not tell us.

When Pope Francis tells us that everything can be reformed and developed and says that the development and reform of the TLM into the Novus Ordo is one example why does he then go onto say that the Novus Ordo cannot be reformed or developed? What in the Gospel clarifies that confusion? Some remark of Jesus about scribes and Pharisees? But surely the good Bishop is not thinking of that. What then?

This comment does not pertain to this post, but it is about the photo that you use to open your homepage. Pope Francis with a befuddled/crabby look on his face amidst rubble and destruction behind him. I note that it is the Italian home of the Basilica of Saint Benedict, a patron saint of Europe and Western Monasticism which collapsed in earthquakes recently. There is a lot of irony that the photo conveys about the situation in the Church. I wish this photo was shown in all the Catholic bulletins in all the churches of all the dioceses throughout the world. This photo more accurately than most shows the average Catholic what we are up against. This is a classic photo and one for the history books to show the next generations after the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart why we were praying and fasting! Mary

It is available. The dogmas, doctrines and disciplines of Christ's One Holy Roman Catholic Church are, in these, a click away, (but exile from the sacraments in situ are a Cross).

Bergoglio is not confusing if you are Catholic.

Being Catholic is a Cross but it is still a choice. We do not belong to ourselves, we belong to Christ. Watch and pray.

A validly elected Pope cannot err in regards to Faith and morals, because a validly elected Pope must first and foremost be in communion with Christ, and His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

"Page 117, of the pope's book, On Heaven and Earth, in regards to same-sex unions
“If there is a union of a PRIVATE NATURE, THERE IS NEITHER A THIRD PARTY NOR IS SOCIETY AFFECTED. Now, if this union is given the category of marriage and they are given adoption rights, there could be children affected. Every person needs a male father and female mother that can help them shape their identity." -Jorge Mario Bergoglio
Approval of same-sex sexual unions is approval of same-sex sexual acts.

To deny the Sanctity of the marital act, is to deny that God Is The Author of Love, of Life, and of Marriage.

When we deny that God Is The Author of Love, of Life, and of Marriage, and render onto Caesar, what belongs to God, we deny The Divinity of The Most Holy and Undivided Blessed Trinity and thus we deny Salvational Love, God's Gift of Grace and Mercy.

Denying The Divinity of The Most Holy and Undivided Blessed Trinity, is apostasy.
