Swine Flu Vaccine Concerns

A doctor and vaccine expert tells Fox News that he will not give his kids the H1N1 shots because they are contaminated with deadly levels of Mercury.

The same Fox News which the Obama administration are apparently spending a lot of hours condemning in the media for 'bias' aired the views of this doctor who claims that the vaccine has 20,000 times the amount of mercury recognised as safe in water.

It appears that just as with the Obama administration's general, rather liberal-dictatorship agenda the administration doesn't like Fox reporting anything but the Government line whether it be the Healthcare Bill or the H1N1 outbreak or gay marriage, abortion or anything that offends it. Scary. Personally, it was obvious to me from the outset that the Obama team would not like pluralism in the media because their goal is so obviously a 'cultural revolution'. Heck! They've even got little children singing songs to Obama in schools. God preserve us!

Also, is it just me, but don't but the symptoms of 'swine flu' presented by the scientific community bear a striking resemblance to symptoms of the annual flu or even a cold? You know me. I'd be the last person to shout "Conspiracy!", but it is deeply disconcerting that the 'Science Czar' John Holdren is also into depopulation ideas, sterlisation and enforced abortion. Are Americans, and indeed the British and Europeans going to trust these guys with a vaccine?

The BBC reports
that, 'Seriously ill hospital patients and the health staff caring for them will be the first of 14m people in the "priority group" to be given the jab.' Who's signing up for this first? The Liverpool Care Pathway?! The same report says that pregnant women are next in line. Err...High levels of mercury being given to pregnant women in a vaccine even when they are not even experiencing symptoms of the 'swine flu'? I'm sorry, that doesn't sound like a great idea, but hey, who am I, who knows so little about medicine to express concern?! Let's get this straight. The first targets of the vaccination with huge question marks over its side effects are pregnant women, and by default, the unborn and the elderly already sick? At a time when Governments are re-thinking whether the elderly and the unborn are worth protecting this news should perhaps have Catholic and, yes everybody's alarm bells ringing.

As an aside I thought I'd mention public concerns about GM food crops. Loads of people interviewed on TV last night were saying that they were concerned that the scientists were 'messing with nature'. Hmm...So, the public have concerns that scientists are 'messing with nature' with GM crops, but scientists aren't 'messing with nature' when they inject human embryos with animal DNA?

A vaccine is to prevent illness, not to cure it. Vaccinating someone who already has the illness (i.e. showing symptoms) is then too late. So obviously you vaccinate a person before they're ill. How much do you actually know about vaccines?

If you're seeing a euthanasia issue in vaccinating those who are ill with other conditions so that they don't contract and die of swine flu, then I despair of your logic.

The only alarm bell I have ringing - and I'm a mature Catholic by the way, who has been accepted for Seminary training - is that of credulity that someone might somehow try to link an effort to protect a population from a disease that could kill the weakest among them and some vague implication of eugenics!

You're really groping for a conspiracy here.

It is not beyond the bounds of possibility....I am currently 8 months pregnant and have been "strongly encouraged" to get the vaccine...despite the fact that the doctors don't want me eating tuna for fear of Mercury poisoning...makes no sense.
The UN has done some awful things with vaccines before...mostly in third world nations where sterilizing agents were included in vaccines without the knowledge of the recipients...some conspiracy theories are actually true.

The Swine Flu vaccine is no different in its manufacturing processes than 'normal' flu vaccine - if you have the 'normal' one then there's no reason why you shouldn't have the new H1N1 'Swine Flu' vaccination.

Regards mercury, this is down to an agent called Thimerosal which is a mercury-based preservative used in the manufacture of some influenza vaccines. It is possible to request a vaccine that hasn't used Thimerosal in its manufacturing process hence avoiding any trace amounts of residual mercury that might be present.

In any case, one should also consider the absolute volume of mercury presence in food / vaccines: tiny amounts in terms of parts per million obviously result in greater quantities if you're consuming something like tuna than they do in a tiny vial of vaccine. The relative risks are very different.

Vaccination - and herd immunity - is one of the most powerful forces acting against disease.

Fearmongering like this will only lead to disasterous consequences, and it seems a cruel irony that you seem to consider yourself moral. FOX "News" makes a living of spreading this kind of reactionary, baseless crap - they don't need the help of gullible folk like yourself to amplify the damage they do.

Also, how do you make the jump from "H1N1 vaccine" to "inject human embryos with animal DNA"?

I join the remainder of your commenters in suggesting that you take the time to do some research rather than letting FOX guide your every thought, and despairing for your education.

I always take medical scaremongering like this with a large shovel of salt. Why are so many medical professionals taking the vaccine if it's so dangerous?

Remember the Daily Mail's scare stories about the MMR jab? All proven to be totally without foundation as the Mail itself later admitted (albeit in two lines on page 9 rather than blazoned across the front page).

Incidentally, Laurence, it would be as well to remember who owns Fox News. He also owns the Sun and and the News of the World - hardly renowned as guardians of the truth.
