Well, he did originally bring the flowers but I seriously would not be putting such items of ephemeral secular culture on a consecrated altar. Even at our totally feel good celebrations of the ascent of the recently deceased to Heaven, otherwise known as funeral Masses, such tokens are never on the altar.Yeah, go to the allotment, offer up the weeding.

If it is of any help when I watched the video seen from the other side there was also a football scarf and the 'beach ball' was actually a football presumably in the colours of the local or national team.
After the inital 'shock' I reminded myself that perhaps South Americans are similar to those Mediterraneans for whom their religion is far more intertwined with their daily lives than us Anglo-Saxons.
