AV Vote Tomorrow

After the last effort that this Catholic with a degree in Politics from Liverpool University made at voting, I'm probably not the best person to ask for advice for how to vote in tomorrow's AV referendum. I do realise, of course, that nobody is asking anyway.

As long term readers will be aware, I besmirched my immortal soul by voting Green in the last election so I'm saying nothing this time. It only causes scandal and embarrassment (*flagellates back*).

Today, however, Fr Alexander Lucie-Smith is encouraging Catholics to vote 'Yes' to the AV voting system tomorrow, also warning us that not to vote at all is a sin. He doesn't say whether not to vote is mortal or venial, but at the end of the day a sin is a sin.

Have a read Fr Alexander's interesting piece on the referendum at The Catholic Herald. Click here for a simple guide to the Alternative Vote (AV) and the First Past the Post (FPTP) electoral systems.

UPDATE: Fr Alexander is taking quite some stick from his readers!
