A spokesman for the Cotswold Morris Dancers has reacted angrily to news that the dancers will not be playing any part in the liturgical 'fun 'n' games' at Hyde Park preceeding Benediction in the presence of the Holy Father.
"I don't understand it. We're still in shock from our omission. We've been training for the event for a long time, knowing that Eccleston Square would allow Hyde Park to become a liturgical circus and they've pulled the plug on us. They've got the Irish, the Poles, the Gypsies. What about us? Is it just because we're English? Well, that's just typical of this country!"
A spokesman for the Bishops Conference was not forthcoming and Eccleston Square refused to comment on the report.

I hear that Bill Brewer, Jan Stewer, Peter Gurney,Peter Davy, Dan'l Whiddon, Harry Hawke, old Uncle Tom Cobley and all have also been left out in the cold. Not very inclusive, is it?
Though I believe Widecombe Fair will feature somewhere.
I suppose this is a spoof but let me tell you the LCLC, asked to be invite and Mgr didn't even reply, his secretary said we were being considered and then we didn't hear anything.
The Lancashire Catholic Ladies Clogs have been dancing since 1922 and we are very, very dissapointed and intend to dance in the London streets instead whethe Mgr Nichols likes it or not!
