"But, he warned, "There are parishes with parish secretaries who seem to be 'disciples of Satan' and scare people; parishes with closed doors," he said."

Pope francis scares me w/his open door (like a pervert driving down the street waving candy or dollar bills at me w/his car door open)...

In the English version at:

http://w2.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/speeches/2016/july/documents/papa-francesco_20160727_polonia-vescovi.html

it has been changed to: "There are parishes with ungodly parish secretaries who scare people off." The other language versions stick with the disciples of Satan but apparently somebody in the Vatican thinks his speech needed editing! But again it is just another example of intemperate language let alone somewhat judgemental.

I suppose the parish secretary is looked upon in a similar way as the doctor's receptionist. Both act as a buffer between the public and their 'boss!' Great illustrations.
