Sinister Conspiracy Theories

Do take some time to read Damian Thompson's piece for the Catholic Herald on conspiracy theories.

Go get 'em Damian. People who challenge the establishment's version of events need telling!

Personally, as readers will know, I don't check under my bed every night for Jews, Crypto-Jews, Freemasons, Communists and Jesuits.

But when I do, I check very thoroughly indeed.

Does anyone actually know anybody who thinks the Jesuits started World War One?

  4. Generally a good article but the Church has always been at the forefront against Freemasonry. Off the top of my head I can think of Our Lady of Good Success, Bl. Anne Emmerich, Leo XIII, Pardre pio, Fr. Luigi Villa, Cardinal Wyszyński, etc.

Benedict XIV wrote the following encyclical on Jews: http://www.papalencyclicals.net/Ben14/b14aquo.htm

And what about the elephant in the room? St. Maximilian Kolbe? He was heavily into anti-Freemasonic and anti-Talmud conspiracy theories. There's a book in Polish called "St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe on Masons and Jews" published by Ostoja. In Polish it's called "Św. Maksymilian M. Kolbe o masonerii i Żydach – pisma wybrane"

    St. Maximilian said the following:

"These men [the Freemasons] believe that they are the ones who will rule everything, but let us hear what is written in the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion. Protocol n. 11 states...

... Freemasons, did you hear this? The Hebrews, who have secretly organized and secretly direct you, consider you as beasts, recruited into the Masonic lodges for ends that you neither know nor suspect … Are you aware, Freemasons, of what awaits those among you who will begin to think for themselves? Listen to this in the same Protocol: ‘Death is the inevitable conclusion of every life … We will execute the Masons in a way that no one can suspect, not even the victims themselves: They will all die at the moment it is deemed necessary, apparently because of common illnesses"

In an article titled “The Poor Ones” he says:

“Man was redeemed, and Christ founded His Church upon a rock. Some of the Hebrew people recognized Him as the Messiah, but others – among them principally the Pharisees – did not want to recognize Him. Instead, they persecuted His followers and issued numerous laws obliging the Jews to persecute the Christians. These laws, together with stories and appendixes, became their sacred book called The Talmud around the year 500.

“In this book Christians are called idolaters, worse than Turks, murderers, impure libertines; they are manure, animals in human form, worse than animals, children of the Devil, etc. Catholic priests are called fortune-tellers and bald-headed dunces … the Church is called a house of stupidity and filth; sacred statues, medals and rosaries are called idols. In The Talmud Sundays and holy days of obligation are considered days of perdition."

Do I even need to mention the plethora of encyclicals and condemnations the popes have made against Freemasonry? Do I need to pull out the secular history books which speak of Freemasonic revolutionaries (e.g. Bolivar, Benito Juarez, etc.) fighting against the Catholic Church in Europe and South America?

There are many stupid, irrational and schizophrenic conspiracy theories, yes, but this does not excuse Catholics from ignoring that political forces such as Freemasonry and Marxism are waging war against Christendom (they already won that war) and against the Catholic Faith.

  6. Starting with the premise that I do not care whether Maria Divine Mercy is authentic or not, it is intriguing how frequently 'conspiracy scoffers' allude to her. Why is that? Could it be that what she predicts is so often happening before our eyes? You better believe that the 'bishop of Rome' is part of the Fatima prophecies.

  7. Damian will get on okay in the new order...until he is asked whether he accepts the microchip implant....

Be afraid. No really, do.p, because that is the general plan.

  8. It's really easy to make fun of conspiracy theories, like shooting fish in a barrel. But here's the truth as I see it: the catholic church has been infiltrated from within by people acting in bad faith. The Jesuits are surely among those once august institutions so infiltrated. I think there is ample evidence of this in the 20th and 21st centuries. Yet I can make this semi-reasonable thesis sound ridiculous when I bill it with the headline "Jesuits sank the Titanic", even though perhaps whoever may have wanted to sink the Titanic/protect the federal reserve is the same set who wished to undermine the catholic church. Am I really crazytown now? Because if you have a better explanation for the insanity of the 20 century in particular, I'm all ears.

  9. The story below creeps me out. Fr. Malachi Martin, Vatican exorcist and assistant to Cardinal Bea has testified to these 'activities.'

  11. Wish I could understand the link process....there's a great u tube out there that Defeat Modernism has posted of Benjamin Freedman from a talk he gave in 1961 concerning this subject and much more. Mr Freedman was a Jew who converted to Catholicism and was the owner of the Woodbury Soap Co . He spent most of his wealth trying to inform people about these evil machinations....definitely worth listening to ...his name is easy to find on u tube.

  12. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was exposed as a fraud as long ago as 1921. Look it up. Blood libels never die, unfortunately.

The trouble with conspiracy theories is that they invite this kind of lunacy.

PS please delete duplicate posts - google accounts playing up again.

  13. Fraud or not (incidentally, how can a piece of writing be a "fraud"?), the Protocols are a surprisingly good read. I've finished about half of it/them, and have yet to come across the infamous "blood libel". But they sure give a new and different angle on recent events, which kind of resonates. just sayin

  14. I hope Mossad is monitoring these pages. Seriously though, anyone who seriously follows the Protocols deserves no place in Christian circles. Even Mosley knew they were nonsense and they belong to The Britons,, the British Fascisti and other Lundy outfits of the 1920s. I think I subscribe to a cock up view of history rather than a conspiratorial one. As for masonry, it's a spent force although I did once have dodgy handshake from a member of SSPX.

  15. What constitutes "seriously following" the Protocols? In any case, Mossad has no jurisdiction over me or what I read, even if for some insane reason they and you both might think otherwise.

  16. Kathleen asked: "(incidentally, how can a piece of writing be a "fraud"?)

Any writing which is written in bad faith with the intention of misleading someone is fraudulent in the eyes of the law. That does not mean that it is necessarily criminal!

For crying out loud does anyone seriously think the Protocols of Zion are other than rubbish? Well perhaps Putin and some of his mates might still do so.

  17. Have you read the Protocols? And don't plead their supposed "fraudulence" -- fraudulence "in the eyes of the law" at that! oooh! -- as a legitimate excuse for not reading them while presuming to scold others for doing same. If you haven't read them you have no basis to judge their inherent worth, which, with regards to a piece of writing, may exist even in spite of any alleged fraudulence regarding authorship.

  18. Kathleen: No I have not read the Protocols and have no intention of wasting time reading them. There is a vast quantity of literature by reputable experts saying they are faked. For me that is sufficient evidence. The fact they were made required reading by Hitler and thus influenced the mentality that lead to the holocaust fills me with horror. Just read the Wikipedia entry about them. It is quite irresponsible and gravely sinful to promote the protocols as truth particularly in view of the horrifying rise in Anti-Semitism that we are witnessing in Europe and elsewhere. All faithful Catholics should be doing their utmost to prevent Anti-Semitism. I hope further comments promoting the protocols will not appear on this site.

  19. Since you are ostensibly a Catholic, I shall remind you that I have free will. remember? I have the intellectual capacity to decide whether or not something is worth reading, and I certainly don't rely on ostentatiously pious blog commenters, let alone Wikipedia, when deciding what to read. You don't have a lot of faith in the ability of the Catholic church to inform consciences, do you? Maybe you should look up the phrase "informed conscience" on your next wikipedia foray, your go-to source.

  20. Kathleen: Where did I say you, yourself, should not read the Protocols? I merely said I would not read them. However I deplore any attempt to promote them as having any basis in reality.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh right, sorry Nicolas, of course you didn't say I shouldn't read them, you merely said it was "gravely sinful" and "quite irresponsible" to "promote" them, which promotion apparently for you constitutes even mentioning them on this blog. Then you go on to question my catholicity for doing same. My bad! .... As far as the Protocols "having a basis in reality": they do indeed exist, Nicolas.

  22. Judaism is pharisaism passed down through generations until today. Moses Mandelson said judaism is not a religion but a set of laws !!They are the sons of darkness who are more clever than the children of light, the enemies of the |Good News, as St Paul stated. unless any of you want to contradict God, Jesus and St paul? God gave no land to anyone in the New Covenant. Early fathers, popes, saints, doctors of the church and Our Lady, all stated that the catholic church is the New Israel - and the real chosen ones are those catholics who are obedient to the teachings of Jesus.
St Maximilian Kolbe, “The poor ones”:
    - “Man was redeemed, and Christ founded His Church upon a rock.

    - “In this book Christians are called idolaters, worse than Turks, murderers, impure libertines; they are manure, animals in human form, worse than animals, children of the Devil, etc. Catholic priests are called fortune-tellers and bald-headed dunces … the Church is called a house of stupidity and filth; sacred statues, medals and rosaries are called idols. In The Talmud Sundays and holy days of obligation are considered days of perdition.
This book teaches, among other things, that a Hebrew can deceive a Christian and steal from him since all the properties of a Christian are – from the text itself – ‘like the desert, the first to take them becomes the owner.’

“This book, written in 12 volumes and breathing hatred against Christ, is considered by these Pharisees a sacred book, more important than Sacred Scriptures.”
