He gets around, doesn't he?
I've a mind to go and give him a piece of my mind.
We have the Government reassuring us that this proposal has nothing to do with Churches because Churches won't be required to do same-sex marriages.
Meanwhile, Peter Tatchell is out spreading the Gospel according to Stonewall in Anglican churches...
Maybe I could do some busking outside All Saints. One Man, One Woman and this one, a newie called All of Nature.
All of nature withdraws her holy song
Because you've been holding your nature in so long
All of nature takes fright,
All of nature tells me St Paul was right
All of nature recoils
Can you tell what its about yet? I expect the last thing Mr Tatchell wants is chaps who've got the t-shirt telling the truth about homosexuality.

We could do with Peter Tatchell getting engulfed with some scandal. God knows there's enough stuff out there to bring him down.

That is a sad reflection of the state of Anglicanism. Will Archbishop Williams stop this affront to God, marriage and human sexuality and morality?
You could go, keep silent and see what is said about forcing churches to marry gays (in view of the European court ruling that refusal could be construed as discrimination).
Interestingly Peter Tatchell has come to the defence of Christians being persecuted for their position on homosexuality (viz. two people 'interviewed' by the police for distributing leaflets setting out an orthodox position. As for wishing someone would be engulfed in a scandal that strikes me as lacking all charity. As ever the blogosphere is full of anti-gay hysteria.
What does "anti-gay" mean?!

Good question. Perhaps I should have said something along the lines of 'hysteria surrounding the debate about gay marriage'. My choice of phrase was not, perhaps, helpful. Let me be clear. I endorse Catholic teaching on marriage, which was expressed very well in the recent letter from the Archbishops and in an excellent Ctholic Voices article in last week's Catholic Herald. My concern is with the tone of the debate in the blogosphere. The comment by Anonymous is quite mild in this respect but if you follow other blogs you'll know that as the string continues the language can become more and more hysterical. To succeed - and I fear we've already failed - we must be reasonable and set out a coherent case.
