Balloons Replace Doves at the Vatican

I suppose it would have been to "tempt God" to try releasing doves again after last year's vicious ornithological blood-fest involving a raven and a seagull. It was the stuff of horror films. Clearly shaken by the incident, the Vatican decided to release balloons instead this year.

Unfortunately, as your host William Tapley, otherwise known as the Third Eagle of the Apocalypse and Co-Prophet of These End Times will soon inform you, the balloons in the image above clearly spell out, in Hebrew no less, "The Vatican is to host the Gay Pride parade this year. Yippee!!!"

No, things are not quite that far gone...yet. You've got to feel sorry for the Vatican. In these days they simply can't win. The BBC report of the balloon release is mildly amusing.

The report simply says...

Pope Francis has released colourful balloons at a ceremony in St Peter's Square to symbolise peace. Traditionally white doves are used, but last year they were attacked by other birds.

And that's it! Time Magazine highlights the odd decision to go with balloons with the following...

“Here’s the balloons that mean, ‘peace,'” Pope Francis said Sunday as children released the balloons. Pope John Paul II began the tradition of releasing doves to acknowledge efforts for peace worldwide.

So now balloons mean 'peace'? Just on this occasion Your Holiness or from now on and for all time?

Readers, I don't know how to tell you this, but I think a multi-coloured selection of coloured balloons have just been 'redefined' by Pope Francis. Will this madness never cease!?

  1. Great!

Now here's a few links (below)to lead balloons Francis floated on January 24.

I don't understand either Italian or Spanish, but it has something to do with Francis granting a private audience to a trans-gendered man and his 'wife'.

I've looked but it doesn't appear any public mass media reprimand was forthcoming from Francis as there had been for the poor (real) woman who had 8 children via Caesarean section.

The Vatican had 'no comment'! There's a first.

  2. 1. Balloons are more photogenic than doves.
    2. Balloons are a staple at clown Masses.
    3. Next to be dropped by the dozens are real clowns.
    4. Followed by liturgical dancing girls.

  3. I suppose it is a way of getting rid of a lot of hot air? I imagine some Cardinals were employed to blow them up vying with each other as to who had the reddest face at the end to match their robes.

  4. If you join the dots/balloons you can see a rabbit.

If balloons symbolise peace then I must have a peaceful household as I have a large shiny pink balloon stuck up in the apple tree in my garden.

I wonder what the life of one of these balloons is? If and when the apples appear this year I hope it will act as a waving scarecrow and scare away the starlings which normally feast on them. At the moment a very fat pigeon is staring at it looking somewhat puzzled.

  5. When Pope Francis says balloons now mean peace, I don't think that this statement consitutes an exercise of the Ordinary Magisterium either safegaurding or adding to the Deposit of Faith. So, chillax.

  8. The Pope could have released white balloons, or white ones with the Papal Arms on them.

Honestly, it was getting scary with the doves getting attacked. Like the devil really sent the nasty birds after them.

  9. I guess they're getting ready to report: "This fig leaf means divorce and remarriage is a sacrament and homosexuals are male and female."

  10. It is a bit obvious - the silver star balloon tethered to the large blue balloon is clear reference to the Jewish-Masonic conspiracy against the Church. Oooohh how they love to rub in our face out in the open like that!

PS. - I kind of like the captcha - the green checkmark gives me warm fuzzies of affirmation that I am not a robot!

  11. Emblematic of the false, flashy, worldly, modernistic "faith" peddled by this papacy, and the majority of cardinals and bishops. Lord, have mercy. Reparation!

  13. But what if a bird attacks a balloon? Maybe then we'll get Tinkerbell on a tightrope, like at disney world. gasp! everyone look up!

  14. I guess if you read blogs like this too much you start to think that releasing some balloons means the End of the World as We Know It.
Maybe it's a bit late for New Year resolutions but how about "I will only attack my Pope when it's justified"?

  15. If you read blogs like this with the right sort of spirit (ala St. Phillip Neri) there is a healthy dose of gallows humour and mix of orthodoxy which bespeaks a love of Christ and His Church. Some may miss the mark from time to time, but that is what I take away from this blog.

Let's all lighten up. It'll give your spirits a lift.

  16. Liam, you may try to make light of this but the video you have posted tells a different story. The balloons are multi-coloured, up there in the sky like…. a Rainbow Sash. Up there, they can see everything, like….. an All-Seeing-Eye. And notice the colour of one of the balloons in the first shot? It’s red. Yep. This video was made in (I’m guessing) 1967, when the Cold War was at its height. So, join the dots and it’s as plain as a pikestaff that those balloons were put up there by the gay lobby/the masons/the Soviet Union to destroy the Church. Also Paul VI in his last years was a doppelganger.

  17. @AnthonyMunday,
    Interesting suggestion, yours.

Tell me then. Is the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man just a balloon or is he a monster?

Have a careful look at this line-up before you decide.
