Take the poll today in the side bar, then we can send the results to Rome.
After all, in the run up to the Synod, the Church is seeking the views of the Faithful.
It is so important they are heard.
One word answer to a simple question.
If the Bishops Conference ever need someone to help them to simplify their survey for the
Synod on the Family, then my email's in the sidebar as well.
Why make things more complicated than they are?

Update: So, this is exciting stuff. So far the results seem to be overwhelmingly on the 'No' side. According to my survey, something like 84% of Catholics think Cardinal Walter Kasper should not be admitted to Holy Communion, due to the doctrinal positions he advances in public, in direct contradiction to the teaching of the Christ and His Church. I had to tell you this after receiving messages from the Faithful 'demanding' that the results of the survey be made public...
What is the point of this post and how is it respectful to Cardinal K?
ReplyDeleteYou need to learn the deposit of the Faith, and be honest about whether or not you assent to it. And stop harassing a faithful Catholic, loyal to Tradition, Scripture and Magisterium.
DeleteFather John, what is the point of your post and how is it respectful to the original poster?------Kim in seattle
DeleteWhy should it be respectful to Cardinal Kasper?
ReplyDeleteIt's respectful to Church teaching.....which Cardinal K ain't!
ReplyDelete'Fr' John,
ReplyDeleteCould it just be a bit of fun?Admittedly at HE's expense. I don't think anyone, including HE would take it seriously, except you.
Are you a member of ACTA, you just seem so heavy handed and lacking in humour. If you are not, why join? It won't be fun but you might find more humourless people there.

I'm not really up to speed here- has he been married before?
ReplyDeleteThe Cardinal appears to be in manifest obstinate grave sin. In fact, he appears to be "teaching" a whole other religion and morality, and promoting evil. Is he not materially apostate?
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant
This is why Kasper the friendly traitor shouldn't receive Holy Communion before a public recanting:
ReplyDeletehttp://sspx.org/en/news-events/news/new-pastoral-approach-marriage-card-kasper-3897
and no hair-tearing because the site is sspx - remember the pope called a bizarre megachurch charismaniac protestant a 'brother bishop'.
Cardinal Kasper is not a good shepherd - I have no authority to say that he is a heretic but he certainly talks like one....
ReplyDeleteI have little respect for heretic cardinals....
Cardinal Kasper is a bad guide - and even 85% of the Bishops at the last Consitory on the Family were against his proposal for divorced and remarried Catholics to receive Holy Communion ...
Cardinal Kasper talks like a heretic ....who is leading souls astray...
Some dear priests need to take the blinkers off their eyes....
Barbara
I gather that cardinal Kasper was asked by the Pope to give the keynote talk to the cardinals on the admission of the remarried to Communion. One person present thought that the audience was 'embarassed' for Kasper. So: did the Pope pick him at random from some 'rent-a-theologian' list; did he ask him to speak in all innocence not realising that he's a dyed-in-the-wool liberal; or did @pontifex suggest the line he should take as a means of gauging, supposedly in private, how a 'merciful' approach would go down with the most senior bishops? If so, he had his answer and that might explain the 'embarassment' felt by the audience.
ReplyDeleteCelia, Pope Francis would have been well acquainted with Cardinal Kasper's decades of infamous dissent.
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed Pope Francis seems to agree with the Cardinal or at least think along similar lines. That's why it poses a question in the minds of the faithful when such reports come out (as did today) of the "phone conversation" with the Argentine woman who is divorced and remarried civilly that she may receive communion. Who knows how much truth there is to it? BUT, when the Holy Father chooses the Cardinal for the keynote speaker, and raises the question himself for "discussion" people start to wonder.
ReplyDeleteI do like some of what Pope Francis is doing but in general, even after this much time, the jury is still out in my book. I am still "waiting to see"....and PRAYING.
Tara,
ReplyDeletePlease Tell me what things you see Pope Francis doing that are good - that you like?
I would like to see them - to have some balance - to date I see them not...not one...
God help me...
Barbara
Some of these comments are hilarious. Clearly meant as ironic humor, all in good fun.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Rent-A-Theologian, I fear Pope Francis inadvertently chose from that same list to fill his Council of 8 Cardinals. Or maybe at least 6 of them.
Barbara,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, he is a humble man, and has put emphasis on serving the poor and disenfranchised as Jesus is calling all of us to do. And, he has taken the focus off of the all the pomp and circumstance of the Papacy and put the focus into the streets where the people are, just as Jesus did. That part I believe is very needed. The part I question is his seeming to play fast and loose with the traditions of the Church, and seemingly to align himself with either heretical clergy or seemingly heretical clergy. Note that I said "seemingly" because as you and I both know, the media is out to paint him the Pope that aligns himself with their liberal agenda, and as you and I both know the media lies and distorts accordingly. BIG TIME. Sooo......the jury is still OUT until we see something concrete.
Kasper is most likely a Mason, like so many of the bishops, and his intent is to destroy the Faith. This is why the Church is in the shambles it is in since Vatican II, they wanted this to happen.
ReplyDeleteWhy did every almost single bishop in almost very single diocese worldwide hide the most disgusting and evil sin/crime committed by priests? Because they want to destroy the Church and they know that the "Catholic" faithful believe in nothing but they worship their children, and their teacup size dogs but I digress. And they would never stand for their children being abused.
Now that the Faith has been extinguished in the lives of the majority of the laity we come to the prize of the modernists. The final battle is to destroy the sacrament of marriage which is the mirror of the Trinitarian relationship and shows God's incredible love for his children.
Let's be clear there is nothing merciful or compassionate in making someone believe that objective sin is really a good thing. That's called evil and that is what Kasper is promoting.....as is another bishop in the city of Rome, not mentioning any names of course because we must show the utmost respect. This is a war between good and evil, maybe the final one. Things are going to get very dark for faithful Catholics and it's going to happen very soon.
ahhhhh, "Fr." John....always good for a laugh in the morning!
ReplyDeleteLet's not lump all Catholics in the same pot of tea Anonymous. There were a good number of them that yes, were poorly catechized, yes were naïve in following their dissenting Pastors and Bishops, and yes took on the attitude of their parent's generation that you follow the directives of the clergy. (like sheep being led to slaughter, I know, but that was the "rule") But, (and this is a big BUT...) many many of these people were ignorant and not really "maliciously unfaithful". By the wonderful grace of God many many of them have been enlightened to the truth. Those that still stand on the side of dissent do so because it is convenient for them, not because the truth hasn't been proclaimed. Pray God they be given the same grace before it's too late.
ReplyDeleteDear Tara,
ReplyDeleteThank you for this reply. I don't know where you live and what is filtered through your media but I live in Italy and I can assure you we are bombarded on the mainstream media every blessed day with how wonderful Pope Francis is. There is something just not right about this. There is of course some manipulation involved to suit the humanistic agenda of most of these mass media outlets, but the main thrust is how human the papacy has become since Pope Francis was elected. Great no? I think this is not great at all - plus it is simply not true as it suggests the other popes were not very human.
I have never seen the likes of this papal "love affair" with the world media.
It hated Benedict who was in my view truly humble about the papacy.
Pope Francis' humilty is self-centered - eveything is about him - even to his travels up and down St. Peter's square in the pope-moble, to the extent that it has become quite embarrassing as not infrequently he invites individuals to join him there. What on earth for? What's he trying to prove?
The Pope is the custodian of the Faith - and is called to a certain decorum as the whole world is watching him.
I am not convinced by his acts of humilty - no - not a bit. It is a humilty that seems to cry "look at me, see how humble I am".
There is much I could add here about this - but I do not want to take advantage of this space that Mr. Bones has so kindly offered to us...
The fact that our "humble Pope" has appeared on 7 magazine covers some of which have disgraceful world-views - such as the Advocate and Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone - is surely a sign to all rational Catholics that something is far, far wrong with our "humble" Pope.
I have been reading about Pius XII and discovered that he ate like a bird and slept on the floor on bare planks. And I have read many, many wonderful things about that great Pope - who to my mind was truly humble as he hid his humilty...under the mantle and symbolism of the Supreme Pontiff - which Pope Francis has so humbly and blithely discarded in everyway.
Red flags from day one of his election.
His humilty does not convince me coupled with his by now countless off the cuff "magisterium" statements leaves one's head spinning with bewilderment at what he might do and say next and why he is behaving in such a manner to cause such great confusion.
This is not right at all.
Thanks again anyway dear Tara for trying..and sorry Mr. B. for the length of my comment - I'll try to be briefer in future.
Barbara
Yes, Barbara, I do understand your feeling this way. I have always from the beginning looked at this new Holy Father with many questions. I try to look at the glass half full (or at least at the beginning of things) that this humble man just may attract many fallen away Catholics back to the faith, and even evangelize our protestant brothers and sisters. But you have to be at least somewhat suspicious when the liberal secular media (that by the way hates anything Catholic) puts this man on a pedestal and are still to this day falling all over him to put him in the lime light. At the very least they "think" he will change the Church according to their liberal agenda. And yes, his "humility" is put on display by the media and even the Church in a way that seems not to be so very humble. As I have said before "The Jury Is Still OUT" for me on the Holy Father. I will wait and see.....time will tell all......PRAY!
ReplyDeleteOh and just BTW...I am in the U.S. and of course they are adoring the Holy Father here as well.
ReplyDeleteWe must remember that the False Prophet comes first. He makes way for the Antichrist (who is waiting in the wings) by stripping away Our Lord's True Teachings, Dogma and Sacraments, piece by piece.
ReplyDeleteWe know for over 40 years, our Catholic Faith has been watered down by the Masonic Sect active in the Church. And now that The False Prophet has usurped the Chair of Peter, dear people, the Abomination has begun in full force.
Our ONLY recourse is to pray - prayers to save the souls of all God's children during and after The Warning. Jesus, have mercy on us.
Kasper belong to the false Church of the heretic Francis .
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if anyone has read the article by Dr. Kelly Bowring: "12 Prophecies That Indicate Trouble Ahead for the Papacy". It is posted on: twoheartspress.com. Very interesting, something to keep our eyes on and pray for Pope Francis, and the Church of Christ.
