Time Magazine, Rolling Stone Magazine and now 'Super-Fran' graffiti in Rome, plus papal doves getting massacred by ravens and gulls in St Peter's. All very odd!
When reality intervenes and photo-ops go bad. No staged shots of a little lamb draped about the neck here.
ReplyDeleteThere is something viscerally terrifying and intuitively foreboding about the sudden injection of savage reality within the context of the manufactured symbolism of this event.
That gull grabbed the dove by the tail! I just wish a whole bunch of robins would fly over and peck away at the gull and crow. Now that would be truly symbolic...

And this article is different than 95 percent of Pope Francis coverage in what way?
I think Francis will be named People magazine's "Sexiest Man of 2014", with the logic that he has lowered guilt associated w/ sex for millions, since who is he to judge?
