When I was chatting to a lady on Sunday's demo I mentioned that in England the Government was contemplating passing the same law we were marching against in France. 'But your Government is Conservative' she said with a look of astonishment on her face. It was difficult to know what to answer but she was genuinely surprised to learn that a Conservative government here was about to do the same thing as the Socialist Gov in France.
There must be an awful lot of disillusioned Conservatives in England at present but what is the alternative?
David Cameron has ensured a landslide victory for the Labour Party at the next election. It will mean a change of management only, the parties do not differ. But thank god the Liberals will be out of sight since gay-marriage is their contribution to the coalition.

From casual conversations out here in the wilds of Sussex people are leaving the Conservative Associations in droves. I have voted Conservative all my life. I was in favour of the EU as a way of stopping wars. I have now told my MP that I will never vote Conservative again if they pass the gay marriage law. I voted UKIP in the police commissioner elections as a start and will have to consider whom I vote for in future. As for the EU having read two books one by Kenneth Minoghue and the other by Roger Scruton I have become disullioned with the EU as well.
The problem is that this may well let Labour in again at the next election but they may take us into bankruptcy and then what?
I often wonder how Germany went mad and whether the same could happen here. I am beginning to wonder whether we are seeing the first signs of some terrible future.

ReplyDeleteI think the purpose of the Conservative Party is to conserve the wealth of the rich. They have always been consistent in that respect.

I don't understand why many people, who oppose SSM and abortion, always harp on about Margaret Thatcher as if she were some great saint.
