"Your Holiness, see my dog...Well, you know all those letters the CDF sent...Well, you're not going to believe this, but...If we could retrieve them, Your Holiness, you know we would. Pardon? You would like us still to try and retrieve them? Well, I know they are in there somewhere but..."

    Letters from Italy perhaps have a slight whiff of Parma ham which makes them irresistably attractive to dogs.
