Why do you use this story as an opportunity to have a dig at Protestants (implying I suppose your own oh so superior Catholicity)? Traditionalist Catholic blogs like this one show constantly a nastiness towards fellow-Christians which is more disturbing than any disagreement about matters of faith. In any case I doubt whether many Protestants spend much time worrying about obsession with relics - nor probably do many Catholics.
