He was the right hand man of Carl Rogers who introduced these approaches to the Catholic Church in the States, to the ruin of many schools and religious orders.

Coulson was clear both about the benefits, in some circumstances, of this approach and of the danger of 'therapy for normals' as he termed it.

He recanted from supporting Rogers and devoted the rest of his life to proclaiming the truth and warning about the dangers of 'values clarification' and other such approaches in our schools. Now, similar protests have claimed another victim: the app created by Exodus International, a great Christian ministry that helps people who want to leave the homosexual lifestyle to do so.

Gay-rights groups will target every Christian app that dares to dissent from their views on issues of sexuality and marriage.

Obviously our ability to get our message out is being damaged. But much more important, so are the concepts of religious liberty and free speech, which are so vital to the functioning of a free society.

Make no mistake about it; the gay lobby is not just trying to win their argument in the public square. They are trying to marginalize, intimidate, and ultimately silence anyone who dares to oppose their viewpoint.

This is not the way free societies are supposed to work. And Apple, which is an important conveyor of information in this information age, is behaving shamefully.

Please, call the Apple switchboard at (408-996-1010) and respectfully request that they reinstate both the Manhattan Declaration app and the Exodus International app. Or, call or visit your local Apple store and do the same.

If we don't raise our voices now, we may well lose our most precious liberties.”

Exodus International says (http://exodusinternational.org/2011/03/debunking-the-myths-about-exodus-and-their-iphone-application/):

Exodus presents a redemptive, biblical worldview on sexuality, which communicates a message of love and acceptance to those that are struggling with unwanted same-sex attractions. Exodus helps people to live their whole life, including their sexuality, in congruence with their faith.
Exodus does not claim to cure anyone. That is not within our ability and certainly beyond the ability of our iPhone application, which simply provided mobile access to information available on our website. As complex human beings, sexual attractions develop for many known and unknown reasons and no one chooses those, but as sexual beings, we all make decisions about how to express ourselves. For those who consider the Bible to be life-giving truth, homosexual attractions and the desire to act on them are at odds with the desire to live a life that reflects the Christian faith and often results in moral tension.
Exodus acknowledges that pursuing a relationship with God over these attractions won’t always make the feelings go away. They may stay the same, lessen or possibly shift towards the opposite sex. That’s not the point. The point is to pursue a life beyond attractions, feelings and societal labels that is guided and defined by Jesus Christ and the truth of Scripture. And for the record, living with conflicted desires is not the same as living a life dominated by them. Exodus doesn’t believe there is a “cure” for homosexuality, adultery, arrogance, gossip or any other sin. There is, however, Jesus who paid the price for it all when He died on the cross. Then there is the daily, sometimes moment-by-moment, decision to live a life congruent with His teaching.Mikenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2389530333077823143.post-58911350700893398432011-04-02T10:50:16.892+01:002011-04-02T10:50:16.892+01:00'Personally, I can't stand people who make...'Personally, I can't stand people who make money out of listening to you while going "Hmm...and how did that feel?"'

That's called person centred counselling. Ooops, I studied that at college. I think you would prefer the psycho-dynamic approach, Freud. I remember after one assessment, reading that I had used 'plenty of mmm's' in a test interview with a fake ckient, which was perceived as good and therefore a pass haha! mmmmm..................

I've seen your featured video before and think it's the best example of ongoing overcoming I've heard.

She's a lovely person.mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06962374096401238994noreply@blogger.com
