Happy Christmas and Prayers...

A very happy, holy and blessed Christmas to all readers.

Please pray for my friend, George, known to long-term readers of this blog, who was rushed to an isolation ward in a Brighton hospital ward last night. Jesus, mercy. Mary, pray.

THE
MANGER'S
FEAT

"O come, O come"
The waiting said
Where pink turns green
And purple red.

Where fasting turns
To festive feasts
And midnight whispers
Come from beasts.

Where slate-gray skies,
Tint-brown clouds glow
Full and fraught
To burst with snow

And burdened mules
Who trod the roads
Can finally rest
Take off their loads.

Where families cut
Down Balsam fir
To scent their homes
Like incensed myrrh.

And men once dark
Living in danger…
Shed tears and kneel
At the feat of the manger!

Blessed be Truth.

"Pope Saint Pius X 'E Supremi apostolatus' 1903 - Pope Saint Pius X "against the repeated onslaughts of an unhealthy utopianism based on revolt and impiety...Letter on the Sillon...No, my Venerable Brethren, we must be insistent in recalling, at a time of social and intellectual anarchy such as the present, when each man sets up as his own teacher and lawgiver, that we must not try to build the city except as God has built it, that society cannot be soundly built upon foundations other than those the Church has laid for it, and not unless it is She who directs the labour. It is no use saying we must create a new civilisation, or build the new city in the clouds ; it has been built, it is already in existence, in the shape of Christian civilisation, of the Catholic City. It is this which must be constantly installed and restored upon these its foundations, which are both natural and divine, against the repeated onslaughts of an unhealthy utopianism based on revolt and impiety : Omnia instaurare in Christo.”

Around Q-11, Novus Ordites will begin to bend with Protestants.

@viterbo

I see no reason why someone who attends Mass in the Ordinary Form should have any difficulty affirming every question in the Penny Catechism. I have no problem wholeheartedly assenting to every one of them: Q-11, Q-12 and all.

I do hope and pray you find some greater peace in the coming year.

Thomas, the so-called 'ordinary form' really is opposed - to the Mass.

Get to Q-12 and you need to make a choice..
Catholic Church or New Ecclesiology of VII.

Also "91. Is the Pope the Shepherd and Teacher of all Christians?...The Pope is the Shepherd and Teacher of all Christians, because Christ made St Peter the Shepherd of the whole flock when he said: 'Feed my lambs, feed my sheep'. He also prayed that his 'faith' might never fail, and commanded him to 'strengthen' his brothers. (John 21:15-17, Luke 22:32)...92. Is the Pope infallible?...The Pope is infallible...93. What do you mean when you say that the Pope is infallible?..When I say that the Pope is infallible, I mean that the Pope cannot err when, as Shepherd and Teacher of all Christians, he defines a doctrine concerning faith or morals, to be held by the whole Church."

Read the catechism onwards, and those Catholic elements - all highlighted in the Catechism- that are the infrastructure of Catholic Mass have been done away in the Protestant Novus Ordo = the merits of true Catholic Saints, miracles, souls of the departed, hell, judgement. Even the sacrificial priest is replaced by lay folks with 'gifts' of the work of human hands (rabbinical) to confirm the meal of the assembly (protestant).
