New Papal Diagnosis Concerns Revealed

Perfect love casts out fear.

Even fear of neurotic priests who need a doctor for their illness.

Perhaps instead of compiling a book of papal insults we should be compiling one called "Asinine Comments by Pope Francis".

That would be a short book.

I don't know what His Holiness means by "rigid", or if he is referring to trad priests who follow rubrics closely, but I have to say that, trad priests, without exception, have been the kindest, most gentle, least harsh or rigid priests I've ever had in the confessional - in contrast to some NO priests. I'm not sure Francis meant to recommend against NO confessors though.

I understand, and totally support, what Pope Francis is saying. He is saying that he dislikes priests who are rigid in their support for anything which goes against Church teaching. Like giving Communion to those who are divorced and remarried. He is saying that he dislikes priests who are fundamentalist in their support for contraception and abortion. Such priests, he says, are fundamentally unstable. You bet. He says, "There are often young men who are psychologically unstable without knowing it and who look for strong structures to support them. For some it is the police or the army but for others it is the clergy." By that I presume he is referring to the dissenting clergy who strongly oppose all sorts of Church teachings but haven’t the guts to leave the Church. So, yes, what he says makes perfect sense. When you understand it through the hermeneutic of continuity.

What scares me is the College of Cardinals (as well as the two current popes). What a monster. He appoints Danneels to the synod and pads around w/McCarrick, O'Malley, Mahoney, Dolan, Wuerl, Kasper, Maradiaga -- not to mention all those pro-abort, pro-euthanasia and pro-sodomy politicians. Guess you got to be a wicked, blood thirsty, child (+Christmas) hating Halloween demon to get ordained in sodomite pervertdom.

Apologies for being off topic but have you seen on the BBC news site that British cinemas will not agree to show a short 'advert' film showing people saying the 'Our Father'? We are told it might offend people of differing faiths or none. Perhaps one day the very presence of a church tower or spire might 'offend.'

I am writing from Poland. Sir, You want to see us as a Christianity's (almost) last standing castle. False.
Today our Bishops' Conference sends a letter to the faithful. Inside You may find an opinion that all Christian denominations (ALL of them) are one Body of Christ. Lutherans, Baptists, Catholics etc. We are already ONE. We are ONE CHURCH. How does it sound? Abp Gadecki's signature is on that letter.
Yours,
Devasura

The Holy Father has already shown us, in his answer to the Lutheran lady, that he very much dislikes giving a simple, blunt answer even where one is appropriate. He prefers to flannel. Not "No, unless you convert," but "I won't say yes and I won't say no, I'll leave it up to you."

Here is some sound spiritual advice for those who would take it on-board:

"Fathers, provoke not your children to indignation, lest they be discouraged." Colossians 3:21

@ Devasura,

I too am not sure what is meant by rigid. I mean one of my legs is. Could that be it?

Now I am a bit surprised at the letter from the Polish Bishops Conference. If it indeed does say what you report, then at the risk of being thought even more rigid, but of course orthodox Catholic, then I would suggest it is heretical.

Mark you there could be some confusion here with the theology of the People of God? I mean which universities and seminars did your bishops go to and more importantly, when?

Are not the insults asinine?

Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Trinitarian God is "rigid" in the way Francis uses the term.

Lynda said...

So, he's condemning himself as rigid. Certainly, people ought to fear any dealings with him, as he's a danger to souls.

Lynda said...

Most of what is shown in cinemas is objectively offensive to God and all moral people. We live under a global atheistic totalitarian regime.

Lynda said...

Sounds like they've become infected with Francis's heresies too. They still hold out on the moral truths in the main, but they don't usually fall until after the dogmatic truths of the Faith.

If he doesn't speak the Faith, he speaks against it; if he doesn't speak the truth, he lies.

JB said...

He's talking about all the young straight men who were inspired by JP II to become priests. He can't stand them.

"They bite". Seek translation in vain.

...post-Catholicola can and will 'pontificate' their rotten, stinking, brutalist edifice of the new heresiarchal anti-catholicism...hiding nothing, 'cause folks love the antichrist exposure.

Everyone is "straight" if they choose to accept truth.

Perhaps, they "bite" the conscience, bringing it to painful life?

Dear Lynda

Bite meaning suck...life, conscience, but most important Truth and submission to the same.
