Guild of Blessed Titus Round Up

I would like to draw readers attention to a fine and helpful analysis of the Synod on the Family, a blogpost by 'On the Side of the Angels' on The Guild of Blessed Titus Brandsma blog. I've written a more general piece on related issues within the Church for the Guild here.

he importance of this second session of the Synod on the Family has not yet been grasped.

Lets face it, 90% of today's Catholics do not understand what is going on or more likely, are not particularly interested .

But it will be as important as the start of the Protestant Reformation. In fact we are probably now within the new the Relativist Reformation.

And Gradualism will be the weapon of the Reformers. They will use language not to deny Catholic doctrine outright, but to evolve it gradually into something new, something that is not Catholic.

This will not be achieved overnight, but they believe time is on their side. After all it was some hundred years before the Protestant Reformation was widely and generally accepted as such.

But let's be clear. The Catholic Church, The Body of Christ on Earth, has been allowed to become further seriously wounded in the past fifty years. Christ still hangs in agony, with Our Lady looking on, in agony. The Church, the human part of it, is weakened , confused and susceptible.

If through this use of Gradual, incremental language, a majority in the Church come to accept that the Grace of Christ's' Crucifixion is insufficient for sinners then not only will that be outright heresy but what little authority the One True, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church still has, will dissolve.

There will be a small remaining Church because Christ has assured us that the Gates of Hell will not prevail, but it will be, as Benedict XVI predicted, a much smaller Church.
