Your usual doctor, partner or parents don't have to be informed, even if you are under 16 ["You don't have to tell mummy or daddy, or even the father or your trusted family GP..." Anyone would have thought abortion carries a certain stigma or taboo] [3] If you are under 16, most doctors will suggest you talk to your parents ['But you just said no-one has to know? How confusing!']."

Let me guess that laws are similar in the UK as the US -- i.e. I bet for ANY OTHER MEDICAL PROCEDURE mom and/or dad or legal guardian(s) would have to be notified.

My bet is there is also an age established for statuatory rape.

So if "boyfriend" impregnates minor below age of consent and there are complications, such as hemmoraghing [sp!] etc. mom and/or dad are left to pick up the pieces if daughter suddenly goes into a coma and dies. Lovely. First time their hear of a daughter's pregnancy is when their daughter is in danger of death and their grandchild has been murdered, and daughter may have been raped statutorilly. Yeah, I guess the state's going to be in charge of grieving for their daughter and lost grandchild.gemoftheoceanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05521207668262592414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2389530333077823143.post-51335394895144237682009-06-02T17:13:51.536+01:002009-06-02T17:13:51.536+01:00The risks weigh out against abortion and in favour...The risks weigh out against abortion and in favour of delivering the baby naturally because the psychological, emotional, biological, physical after effects of abortion do not lend weight to the notion of safety and health.

If you deliver the baby at birth, there is, as far as I know, not such a risk of infection, infertility, you will not regret the abortion, since it never happened.

In other words, having a baby is perfectly healthy and natural. There can be complications. Surgery and abortion is not natural hence the later complications, psychological trauma etc.

I know post-natal depression is a reality - but that kind of depression is not the same as bereavement. The Boneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10271719805983763595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2389530333077823143.post-4908005250211179752009-06-02T15:18:43.411+01:002009-06-02T15:18:43.411+01:00The after-effects can include lifelong feelings of...The after-effects can include lifelong feelings of regret and remorsePhysiocrathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13682019625346594568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2389530333077823143.post-36680339062456656142009-06-02T13:51:52.002+01:002009-06-02T13:51:52.002+01:00I really don't see how that guide is minimising ri...I really don't see how that guide is minimising risks. You seem to be overplaying that. There is a risk to delivery of a baby. How do the risks weight out?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
