That 'academic' liberal 'Catholic' argument in full...

But presumably Pope Francis is a qualified moral theologian so what are we supposed to make of the following which he is supposed to have said to the Editor of La Repubblica:

"The diverse opinion of the bishops is part of this modernity of the Church and of the diverse societies in which she operated, but the goal is the same, and for that which regards the admission of the divorced to the Sacraments, [it] confirms that this principle has been accepted by the Synod. This is bottom line result, the de facto appraisals are entrusted to the confessors, but at the end of faster or slower paths, all the divorced who ask will be admitted."

Well that's one of the ten commandments down and only nine to go. Now what about "Thou shalt not kill". Okay we have been doing a lot lately what with killing 500 of the unborn each day but that is getting pretty tedious and really is not quite the same as killing someone you really hate. What about killing some adults as well? It is becoming quite a feature of the world at large so surely we must accept murder as being perfectly normal and part of the modern world?

Well Father Lombardi has 'denied' this according to the Catholic Herald or rather said the report is unreliable and does not represent what the Pope thinks. In view of the Editor having previously reported on a conversation with the Pope which had to be denied one would have thought that his Holiness would be careful not to talk to him again. Or is he just irresponsible or worse? Floating an idea to see the reaction so he can deny it subsequently? Perish the thought.

These decades the qualified moral theologians are among the worst and most active enemies of the Faith and God's moral laws (whilst living off the Church, financially and otherwise).
